Outcome:

Students will be able to communicate effectively and provide meaningful feedback and critique to their peers’ work and express themselves in a reasonable way!

Based on what we have learned so far, students will have some basic ideas about art and color. Students must participate in this activity to earn the participation mark. Because of the human connection, we should communicate and ask questions during this point. If people always just do paint individually, students will not learn from other people or teachers.

Articles:

Please read those three articles below and before you do the painting

Activity:

After you finish those articles if you have questions feel free to ask teacher or TA before you do follow steps.

  1. Thinking about one animal you really like. (can be real or unreal)
  2. Draw 3 or 4 thumbnails for brainstorm. (pencil drawing)
  3. Pick up the best one you think its best or you like the best
  4. Draw the final one with color and every detail you wish to present
  5. Put the final work on the table with your name
  6. Go around the room and leave some comment on other people’s paint (at least 5 of them)

Why we should do this?
It was a good opportunity to learn from the teacher and other students. Students can easily self-express using different colors or different styles of drawing. When students doing more and more those kinds of activity, they will slowly build up their self-confidence. People who are shy to present can use drawing to express the true feeling. Based on the last article we understand how self-confidence can shape our behavior in the future. This activity can become a very good habit for long term benefits like the process we did up there. Every group project or individual project needs to know how to communicate with peers or bosses. In the future, you make become a boss or one of a team member, self-expression, and self-confidence skills will support you in life long. If you do know how to release your stress and express yourself well, you will gain a lot and save a lot of time than other people.
