Welcome,

To our Visual Arts Learning Resource.

Overview

Within our learning resource students can explore the beginning principles of art and painting. They will go through lessons that detail art supply clean-up and maintenance, traditional art theory, texture in art, the benefits of communication and collaboration, as well as homework assignments that will further students’ learning. The Art of Expression learning resource serves as a method to help bridge the gap between learning and creativity; as well as create a fun, low-stress way for young people to connect with their imaginations while also learning practical techniques. This course is specifically designed for students in grades 6-8, but many of the activities can be done by people of all ages. Using the learning theory of constructivism as our driving force behind designing this resource – there is an emphasis on experience and “learning-by-doing” to create a fully fleshed out, interactive course for students to explore. In this course students will be doing things such as sketching, collaborating to create a mural, and learning how to produce texture with paint. Easily accessible with an internet connection, the Art of Expression is a supplement to foster more creative connections in young people, and have them painting and drawing more than ever before.
